Home is where our STORY Begins…
Welcome to our ‘Magnolia Story’! Join us on the journey of renovating a 1950s bungalow, a tale that began in 2014 when we acquired it. With inspiration drawn from our days in Stratford, Ontario, we’ve lovingly transformed it into a stunning North American-style home.
How it all began…
Our dream was always to build our own home. We’d often find ourselves driving through the picturesque Kent Countryside, searching for that perfect plot of land to call our own.
Time for change…
But it wasn’t until 2013 on a trip to Canada that we decided it was time to think about downsizing. Our old home was a 6-bedroom three-story house, but it was just another ‘cookie cutter’ house, in an average close with other similar style homes.
Let the search begin…
After selling our house, we began exploring other options. It didn’t take long to realise that downsizing would lead us to yet another cookie-cutter neighbourhood, with houses identical to each other and cars crowding every corner!
We found the one!
We embraced a fresh perspective and stumbled upon a ‘Fixer Upper’. Rather than settling for the modest 850-square-foot bungalow typical of its era, we dared to dream bigger. Opting to demolish 70% of the structure, we embarked on the journey to craft our ultimate DREAM HOME.
