How to create a tranquil Master Bedroom

Creating a neutral haven

After floral yellow flowers in the master bedroom, I wanted somewhere relaxing… this is how to create a tranquil master bedroom.

So out went the floral feature wall, with matching lampshade and bedding, and in came calming understated neutrals!

We really wanted the Master Bedroom to have a tranquil feel to it this time around. So we went for very neutral tones on the walls and in the accessories.

Pick what you LIKE, as living with a Trend is NEVER a good choice…

WE ADDED PANELED FEATURE WALL

In the Master Bedroom, we went for a feature wall of square paneling on the bed wall and this wall along with the other walls apart from the second feature wall was painted in Dulux Heritage Alabaster White.

The second feature was wallpaper in Laura Ashley’s Josette in Pearlised White, on the vaulted wall.

THE BED & BEDDING

Our bed is the one that we brought when we moved in and is a super king from Laura Ashleys Broughton Range in painted ivory.

The bedding is all from Bedeck and is from their Sanderson Ashbee Range in a cashmere colour, which reminds me of the perfect colour for a wedding dress!!

We have then topped it off with bespoke cushions from Atelier Le Flamboyant

There are also four cushions from Dusk and the bedding is from Cuddledown UK

Their LOCATIONS

Their Rug…

Throughout the whole of the house with the exception of the two downstairs bedrooms we have Luxury Vinyl, so I like to add rugs to soften the look of a room.

We have dogs, so for us, the Ruggable Washable Rug was a no-brainer, we went with the Sarrah Hazel Rug, as it blends perfectly with our neutral tones in the room and adds texture.

The Bench

Have you ever noticed that all the luxury bedrooms that are on Instagram have a bench at the foot of the bed! Most also have a sheepskin rug on the top, for the added luxury feel! I am saving the latter for my winter styling!

The Bench we have came from Wayfair UK and the colour is a very pale mix of champagne and pink.

Window Treatments

I absolutely LOVE shutters, have done since we lived in the USA and Canada, so as soon as I could afford them in the house I got them!

However, I do prefer to have a mix of curtains and shutters rather than just shutters as I prefer the softer look they give. All of our shutters are from the DIY Shutter Company and the curtains in this room are from Next.

The Lights

Oh, that light with its sparkly crystals! It was from BHS when they still has physical stores, however, you still can get the same light online direct from BHS its called Ursula in large.

Everything else…

Everything else in the room has come from a variety of different shops, or even different parts of the house! If there is something specific that you would like to find out where it came from then contact me as I am more than happy to tell you where something came from.
