Cruising the Virgin Voyages Way

Relocation Cruises

Virgin Voyages is a cruise line that is perfect for people who want to have a more relaxed and informal experience. There are no formal dining rooms or dress codes, and the average age group is much younger. This makes it the perfect choice for people who want to enjoy a cruise without feeling like they have to adhere to strict rules and regulations.

We were a bit apprehensive about taking a Virgin Cruise – after all, the only experience we had was my Mum and Cousins’ four-day mini cruise on the Valiant Lady.

As soon as we BOARDED, all those worries vanished…

Virgin Voyages is the perfect choice for cruisers who don’t like cruising! Their Adult Only policy means you can enjoy a hassle-free vacation without kids

The Cabins

Virgin has thought about their cabins, from beds that convert into sofas during the daytime – giving you more space to move around! To their ‘Tablet,’ which controls everything from the lights and TV to the curtains and AC.

One of my favourite things to do was to sit later in the day or early in the morning on the red hammock on the balcony with a book and watch the world sail by! It was such a peaceful and calming way to spend my time!

Eating on BOARD!

Their Restaurants…

With such a great selection of restaurants, there was definitely something for everyone in terms of taste. I absolutely loved The Wake, Extra Virgin (especially the Affogotta desert), and Razzle Dazzle – the steak and curry were both amazing. And let’s not forget the ice cream parlor that I visited at least once a day!

Looking for a place to relax during the day? Look no further than the Dock House! With its Ibiza-style decor, it’s always got a great vibe going on. Plus, there are always performances by talented solo artists and bands. And if you’re looking for something light to eat, their tapas lunches are perfect.

The Entertainment

For us, this was a perfect balance and for someone who normally hates any type of ‘holiday entertainment,’ I thought that Virgin nailed it… we particularly liked the comedian he was so funny!

And I could have listened to both Daniel Park and Selkii all day long…

Why we chose a Relocation Cruise

I’ve always dreamed of taking a transatlantic cruise. I remember watching The Love Boat as a kid and thinking how amazing it would be to spend days at sea, relaxing on the deck with nothing but the open ocean ahead of me. Plus, relocation cruises usually come with substantial discounts, making them even more appealing!

A Virgin Cruise is NOT for everyone!

Relocation are NOT for everyone, or even a Virgin Voyages Cruise. If you are the type who LOVES formal dining or Dinner with the Captain! Or you need to know what every single hour of every single day will look like! Or the people that like to climb a rock wall or head down a waterslide as they sail! The a Virgin Voyage is probably not for you.

Relocation cruises can be a great way to see the world but don’t expect everything to be available all the time. There will be days when you’re at sea and the ship will have to restock. And as for the Wifi, well, it might not be perfect every day.

But we LOVED our time onboard

We found the cruise to be perfect. At first, we were worried that being out at sea for eight days would be a problem, but those fears soon disappeared and we relaxed completely. The days did seem longer and neither the first or the second week went fast.

The staff were amazing and they addressed you by your first name, and likewise, you called them by their first name… What I really liked about Virgin was how they treat their staff, there was no them and us and on their days off they were allowed to eat in the same restaurants as we did. It’s nice to see a company that values its employees so highly!
