Decking the Halls with a 7.5ft Christmas Tree

Finding the perfect Christmas Tree

Since we built our home 10 years ago, I’ve always dreamt of decking the halls with a Christmas tree to create a quintessential Christmas moment: a beautifully decorated tree standing proudly at the foot of the stairs. This year, that dream has finally come true, thanks to a stunning 7.5ft artificial tree I found at Longacres Garden Centre. And let me tell you, it’s perfect!

The Perfect Spot for a Christmas Tree

There’s something magical about placing a Christmas tree in such a central spot in the home. It’s the first thing you see when you walk through the door, filling the space with festive cheer. The staircase backdrop adds height and elegance, making the tree feel like the centerpiece it deserves to be. For years, I’ve envisioned twinkling lights and glistening ornaments catching the glow of the stairwell lighting—and now, it’s a reality.

Christmas isn’t a SEASON it’s a feeling…

Finding “The One”

Finding the perfect tree wasn’t easy. I wanted something grand but realistic, lush but manageable. After countless searches, I finally discovered the 7.5ft artificial tree at Longacres Garden Centre. The tree has a beautiful, full shape with branches that mimic the look of a real fir. It’s sturdy, well-made, and easy to assemble—an absolute must for anyone who’s struggled with complicated tree setups in the past.

Decorating the Tree

The fun really began once the tree was set up. I went for a classic, timeless theme this year: white and gold ornaments paired with warm white fairy lights. The combination adds a touch of elegance and keeps the tree looking cohesive. I even added a few personal touches with ornaments we’ve collected over the years, making it feel uniquely ours.

The height of the tree allowed me to go big with a dramatic topper, and I opted for a sheer bow that catches the light beautifully. The finishing touch? A tree skirt in a gold metal, perfectly finishes the look.

WHY artificial?

As much as I love the charm of a real tree, I’m allergic to pine, which means an artificial tree is the only option for me. Thankfully, artificial trees have so many benefits. They’re low-maintenance, reusable, and (if you choose wisely) look just as gorgeous as the real thing. Plus, this tree’s design is so convincing that guests often do a double-take when they see it. Creating new Traditions

Having this tree at the foot of the stairs has made our home feel even more festive this year. It’s become a daily reminder of the joy this season brings. Now that I’ve finally placed a tree in this space, I know it’s a tradition I’ll continue for years to come.
